I bought this cup of coffee at both 4 and 8 cup models. Both the cafe, like Bodum coffee presses include a large cup of coffee, so if you’ve never tried made this way, I would recommend one of the new models in Kenya while Amazon has them at a reduced price. However, I want to warn you about something.

One day after receiving the press head 4, I broke the glass carafe! Because these external units made entirely of plastic (unlike other models Bodum holders and / or stainless steel handles), the adjustment is very tight around the beaker. The decanter and the occasional plastic container having separated for washing, because sometimes during the rinsing process, the coffee being made between the two. I had my hand.

If you are going to separate the two, please do not do as you wash with dish soap! I had to pull hard enough on the glass inside the plastic to get their hands with soap, and thus you can imagine what happened. They separated, but the cup went flying glass in the bottom of my sink, then completely shattered. . .

The cost of shipping replacement carafe, it was just cheaper for me to a new order! I did it, but bought the Bodum Chambord model instead (which costs more), with the metal container, and separate glass-door and very easy to clean (a little easier than the plastic)! Who, incidentally, now has always held before the dish soap is applied

Version 8 cup of the press in Kenya New works fine and the glass is intact, j ‘likes the components of the model without detergent separately, too. I thought I would share my experience so that maybe one less person who is saying to himself: “What I thought!? .

I ordered him to buy two and save 17 and 34 oz face and I am very happy. It was shipped quickly and as usual, came much earlier than scheduled. French press is a challenge for a cup of coffee than a drip and unless you are a member of a large number of people is much more user / friendly space drip, then a machine that produces at best a cup OK. Comes with simple instructions and his own first for the correct measurement.

Some considerations would be that, yes, you have a large coffee mill. You can buy a burr grinder or do what I do and buy my coffee beans and use the mill, most stores have set up (and I still be in a spirit that will be used for each marks on the shelf). It should be all the way from the other side of the espresso and you’ll be good, even if every few weeks, I never tasted a difference between every morning and every few weeks have commented. There is a difference already in the ground at the fabric factory. Stay away from blade grinders leave you with a very uneven grind. So, yes, you’ll find yourself with a little coffee “dust” at the bottom of the cup. Do not bother me any instructions to you and as long as you do not end with a truly served basis. Just do not use commands in powder or at least if you find a brand with a great routine.

Some other considerations would be the size. Some have complained of similar items that the cup size is incorrect. It says right in the title or description of oz size of the unit, if you read this is not the fault of the creators. They rely on the standard European cup cup because it is a European company and the industry standard. The 17 OZ is good four cups and two good enough for you a little bit up. The 34 ounces is simple math here, good for two, so basically, you’re almost a perfect person and two sizes for morning coffee, 2-4 persons coffee after dinner. .

A final consideration is the small plastic piece that is part of the filter assembly. Let me explain to measure and drive home a simple solution. The screw plunger into the actual parts and filter acts plastic piece as a kind of nut that holds it in place and keep them only from the bar. But this is not the actual piece that connects the two is 100% metal and durable. If the piece of plastic is when you dive the bar and the lower part of the spin control, the other two parts are in place. If the tape so you (I’m from Paris on what happens to term), collect a few rings to act as spacers and a nut right size for the rod / cable and problem solved. This is a design flaw in my opinion, is the only thing that prevents the product to get five stars. But for this price, the design also very good and construction, I can accept that making a minor change. There is the lover in me I think lol.

But, overall it was a good product. The useful size, cost and support Nice plastic for glass (a great feature) is worth money, even with a small, easy to fix error.

And yes, it is a piece of glass is a little slippery when wet is separate from the plastic container with dry hands!

In fact, we all found ourselves on a temporary mission in which “free” coffee is so bad that you really want the waste as Starbucks. So, as I found I needed a solution to monumental proportions. I was grinding my own coffee as a matter of course. It was therefore a logical step to try one of these. . .

And damn it was worth. The coffee press is amazing. Essential oils are intact and has a silky and velvety texture. the subtleties of taste are clear and anyone who takes note of the man at the cafe is always described. . . although they do exist.

As for this product, I use Bodum since I lived in Paris in 1998. quality and history speak for themselves. Indeed, the fascinating history page on their website. I chose this model because the cover is “open” and “closed” position actually manufactured the plastic is rust proof and easy to clean. The lines are tight and clean design. Since the mechanical (piston and a carafe) are identical across the board, the exterior is a matter of taste.

Bottom line, the indulgence is worth the 20 bones in the shipment.

I have several presses, but the one I use every day. I had a “one cup” press, but he made enough coffee for one cup. This press allows enough coffee for a great cup of coffee, that’s exactly how I want. The other thing I like is that the outer casing and lid are made of plastic, which means they do not rust like those above do metal, even the underside is warm enough require a coaster on my desk. I love these people, and I’m glad to see there are now so many different sizes available on Amazon!

  5. D. Breneman Says:

1 – Size: Ideal for a large cup. I struggled for a 12 oz pressure because it was too small for a cup of decent size, 32 ounces and is excessive for one person.
2 – Plastic: The plastic casing is beautiful, making it slightly more difficult to break if you accidentally hit a hard surface. I do not see the need to take the glass of the plastic case. The press can be washed anyway.
3 – Sliding: Blades release on smooth surfaces, so I am a little worried about falling from the counter.
4 – Mesh: Na 2 years of using a press with two plastic meshes (one in the press, and on top, for pouring), I thank my ability to pay quickly coffee with this press release (I ‘or a little after coffee at the bottom of the cup).
